AACFSA’s Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) program aims to improve the dire situation of the populace’s access to safe and clean water, as well as proper sanitation facilities, and promote hygiene practices within communities. The program deploys a sustainable system that manages the disposal of human liquid and solid waste, which includes constructing proper toilet facilities.
In an effort to actualize the WASH program’s objectives, AACFSA has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to improving sanitation and hygiene in the Gulelle Sub City Administration. The organization has constructed 16 toilets and established 5 solid garbage points for the community.
AACFSA has implemented the WASH project in 11 schools in Ambo town, with a focus on increasing the accessibility of toilets and available water in schools, including the Lelistu Gotera school in the West Showa Zone of the Oromiya regional state.
In addition to constructing toilets and improving sanitation facilities, AACFSA is also promoting primary health education, personal hygiene education, and environmental hygiene education through organizing sessions.
AACFSA provides accessible health services to children in the areas where they are intervening, thus serving as a beacon of hope for the community.
AACFSA’s WASH program is a vital initiative that seeks to improve the health and well-being of individuals, particularly those in low-income communities where access to sanitation facilities is limited.
